The challenge
Working actor needed a portfolio site to send to casting directors and agents. Required: reel embed, headshot gallery, full résumé, credits list, contact form for booking inquiries. Had to feel cinematic without being cluttered.
The approach
Multi-page vanilla HTML site — Home, About, Reel, Credits, Contact. Editorial typography, full-bleed photography, embedded YouTube reel with custom poster frame. Mobile-first because casting directors browse on phones during auditions.
The result
Site has been used in active casting submissions since launch. Owner reports it consistently gets compliments from casting directors — which is the entire point.
Portfolio sites for working creatives don't need a CMS. They need cinematic typography, fast image loads, and a reel that plays in one tap. Everything else is noise.
